Tarangire National Park is known for its ancient baobab trees and some of the largest elephant herds in Tanzania, which gather along the Tarangire River especially in the dry season from June to October. The park sees far fewer visitors than the Serengeti or Ngorongoro, making it a good choice for travellers who want strong game viewing without the crowds.
