Tsavo East and Tsavo West together form one of the largest protected wildlife areas in the world, and one of Kenya’s most rewarding yet less crowded safari destinations. Tsavo East is known for its wide-open plains and red-dusted elephants, while Tsavo West offers volcanic scenery, the Mzima Springs hippo pools and dramatic views from Poacher’s Lookout.
Both parks sit conveniently between Nairobi and Mombasa, which makes Tsavo a natural stop on a road safari linking the two cities, or a stand-alone add-on to a beach holiday on the coast.
