The Maasai Mara National Reserve is Kenya’s flagship safari destination and the stage for the Great Migration, when over a million wildebeest and zebra cross the Mara River between July and October. Named after the Maasai people who still graze cattle alongside the wildlife, the reserve offers some of the highest concentrations of lion, leopard, cheetah and elephant found anywhere in Africa.
